Halloween 2023 is slowly creeping towards us and the colder days and darker nights will soon be something we see often. Halloween I always find gives us something to look forward to between now and November as many now tend to decorate for the whole of October for Halloween.

Are you looking forward to Halloween 2023? Do you have any plans yet or still deciding?

After three years, our animated Porch Punkin died; so I'm keeping my eyes open for some other 'attraction' for the front porch. :D

I like going trick or treat with my kids and taking them to visit my mom and grandma on the holiday even though I never dress up.

I haven't "looked forward" to Halloween since I was about eleven years old.

And especially since I've owned a house and have to worry about random vandalism and petty crime from those that do such things for a week or so before and a few days after.

And

Has your house ever been "targeted"?

Where we used to live.... wandering groups of troublemakers would hit everybody on the street.

I just knew that the weekend after Halloween, I'd get to take my pressure washer out and do my house, and at least one or two of the neighbors, as well as the neighbor's fence, and usually my own garage and his out building and probably at least two or three of our cars.

Everything from eggs and toilet paper to chalk and latex paint.

A couple of times, the police had High Visibility Patrols in the neighborhood, evidently, the punks saw it as a challenge.

I never had to turn in an insurance claim on it, but the guy to our south had a type of spray paint along one outside wall that we could not wash off, and he had to have the siding replaced.

THAT is no longer a Halloween prank.

That's frustrating. This is one of many reasons why I'd rather live way out in the country. People don't teach their damn kids boundaries or morals anymore.

Funny thing, the troublemakers usually grow up & calm down or move away, but trouble stays in the neighborhood. Maddening!

Hope your current neighborhood stays peaceable.

Love Halloween. We get a huge turnout in my neighborhood. My daughter wants to deck out the front yard in halloween decorations, but they are expensive. I suppose we can do something simple like fake spiderwebs and making headstones out of cardboard / spray painting them grey and whatnot. If she's willing to do some DIY decorations, I'd be down with that.

Not really, never was into it. I do catch some of the Halloween movies whenever they are on.

Heck yeah! I love the fall and Halloween. I think I'm actually going to dress up this time at work. We've got the go ahead!

Costco Punkin' Pie again. :D

I love Halloween!! We live in the country, so we don't get many trick-or-treaters, so it's kind of a disappointment. I don't know many people around here to go to any parties, and a lot of them you have to pay for.

So I watch lots of scary movies throughout the month of October.

No, I am not, It's a pointless holiday, is not as big a deal here and is too close to the date of my mother's death.
