Do you think all children should study art at school?

Did you enjoy art class?

Why or why not?

Yes, absolutely. Art activates an important part of the brain that controls certain things like the ability to think less concretely and more abstractly, etc. It's also a wonderful tool to have to be able to express ones self.

I don't care for it to be mandatory, so no "should". However, I do believe if a student has a desire to learn to draw & do art, they should be encouraged & schools should have available different classes for them to take. If the school cannot afford to have classes, have it be extracurricular.
I was never good at art; writing is my forte.

Art should not be mandatory. Compared to knowing how to read, write, spell and do mathematical calculations, it is irrelevant.

I agree that it shouldn’t be mandatory but a choice and encourage kids when they show interest in creativity. I used to draw all the time and loved art.

I agree with that; some kids are extraordinarily talented with artwork & it's good to encourage them to blossom & expand their natural talents. (y)

I think it should be mandatory for very young kids at least. Gets those creative juices flowing!

High school not so much, its fine being an elective class.

I think it's a good idea for youngsters to be taught basic drawing techniques like perspective and scale, and how to use the various types of painting mediums, mixing colours, using canvases etc. Then perhaps becoming optional for seniors as they move into exam subjects.
