It's something that should be volunteered, not requested. I volunteer my age, people can know, but I won't ever ask anyone their age.

The whole asking someone their age being rude thing is a social construct made up by humans and their unrealistic desire to stay young forever, never to grow old, since their age reminds them of how close to death they are. And if there's one thing humans don't like to think about, it's their own mortality, their expiration date, so they created the whole 'asking someone for their age is rude' thing to discourage other humans from poking them where it hurts. That's all there is to it, really.

I asked a girl her age because I thought she was cute and friendly and wanted to date her, but it kind of bit me in the butt in the end because she was a lot younger than me. I re-asked her age like three years later, but only because I was comparing how old she was and how old I was when we first got our driver's license.

It's probably really no one else's business what age another person is, but sometimes it can be nice to know depending on different circumstances.

I personally don't mind people knowing my age.

You kind of have to in today's world. Otherwise you could get brought up on charges and end up on the sex offenders list. I've actually asked one woman if I could see her driver's license because I was paranoid.

Honestly! If a girl is 15 but looks 19 & lies to you about her age....what's a guy supposed to believe/do?

If I ever went back to women, I'd be after ones my own age so no need to worry about that. Anyone who is in their late 30's and above wont look like they're under 18.
