Australian school evacuated after pupil brings hand grenade to show-and-tell

Students at the Hunter Christian School in Newcastle were taken to a near by park while police and bomb appraisal technicians examined the hand grenade.



Police have indicated the grenade resembles a World War Two pineapple type and is inactive.



Classes at the school were cancelled and students sent home as a precaution.

It amazes me that the pupil was even allowed to get into the school with a grenade. Some security they got there!
