Autistic teenager found locked inside cage with door chained shut.
Two pensioners have been charged with unlawful imprisonment after an autistic 19-year-old was found held in a cage on a wooden ‘bed’, inside a room where the door was chained shut.

A 65-year-old woman and 66-year-old man were arrested in the home in Paris Township, around 90 miles north of Detroit, Michigan.

The young man had a thin blanket on his wooden ‘bed platform, and a barred door on his room was chained shut.

The two pensioners are being charged with unlawful imprisonment and abuse of a vulnerable adult, and are being held in county jail.

Two children who were found on the premises were taken away by protection services after a court ruling five days later.

Michigan’s Department of Human Services says it is investigating the incident.

Spokesman Bob Wheaton said that the home in question is a private residence, rather than a residential care facility.

In your opinion, what would be a just punishment for these two pensioners?

I think they should lock them both in the cage pictured in the OP, and throw away the key.

You can add "traumatized" to that autistic kids list of problems.

Glad someone found out what was going on in that household.
