What's the one thing you'd tell a tourist to avoid in your town/city?

Going to not-frequently-seen places. People don't want to be assaulted/robbed.

I'd tell them not to waste their time visiting my town and go somewhere cool.

If you mean in terms of safety, Portland is rather safe compared to many cities. I guess there are pockets of SE/NE and North Portland that are just bad news, but not compared to other places.

The hood. Avoid this hood, that hood, and all the hoods in between. Cuz they're not good. It's not good in the hood.

Sometimes there's some little hidden gems in "the hood" as far as places to eat and buying bootleg / cheap merchandise.
