A man who was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter over the death of ice hockey player Adam Johnson has been released on police bail.
The Nottingham Panthers player's neck was injured by a skate during a collision with Sheffield Steelers' Matt Petgrave on 28 October.

So that guy slit someone's throat with the blade of an ice skate? It was on purpose or accidental? Is there a video of what happened?

They're trying to say it was on purpose because of how his leg came swinging around after a hit, but...it's iffy.

WArning that this is graphic

So there has been multiple throat cuttings in this sport? You'd think they'd wear something to protect their necks.
They're going to look into mandating it, thankfully, next season. It's insane that it hasn't been mandated before now. I mean...

Absolutely, so, so dangerous, but prosecution worthy? I understand someone died in this case, and that's tragic, but...it's an accident, IMO

That and its a sport where players are fully aware of the risks before signing up.

Absolutely. You willingly play with blades on your feet going in all directions after big hits. It's a known risk, a known entity. They have more and more safety equipment available, but the risk persists and is well known.

I suppose people go into with the mindset of "That happens to other people, it will never happen to me" ....until it does.
