Best Video Game Movie

There's been quite a few movies made from video games.

Some examples are: Super Mario Bros, Double Dragon, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Laura Croft : Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, Doom, Silent Hill, Hitman, Sonic the Hedgehog, Pokemon: Detective Pikachu, Uncharted

Which is the best in your opinion?

Sonic the Hedgehog movies were really good. I am glad they listened to the public and reanimated it. Their original sonic design was trash.

Looking forward to the new Mario movie though!

I still believe it was all part of Paramount's plan to make a ugly design of Sonic to get people talking about the movie. Did you know that Tyson Hesse is the guy who redesigned Sonic for the movie? He's been working on the Sonic comics for years now, he worked on the Archie comics and currently works on the IDW ones. Anyways I think Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is the best video game movie, the amount of references to the games was amazing plus it had Tails and Knuckles and Super Sonic! I can't wait for Sonic the Hedgehog 3, we'll be getting Shadow the Hedgehog in that film. He's my second favorite character from the franchise and I honestly can't wait to see his backstory come to life on the big screen.

I am not really sure what my favourite would be, as like you mention there have been quite a few. I used to really like the Resident Evil movies, although it has been a long time since I have watched any of them. I also quite enjoyed the Ni No Kuni and Dragon Quest movies when I saw them more recently. A bunch of movies have been mentioned in this thread which I still need to get around to watching.

Hot garbage. I went with my family to see it. Boy we were disappointed. It's in the same field as some of the other video game movie adaptations. Street Fighter, Double Dragon, etc.

Yeah it was a strange take on the video game. Almost as if the people who made it never played the video game.

They probably didn't. They saw a couple of clips and decided to make a movie. For example, the newest Resident Evil movie(Welcome to Raccoon City)....there's so much source material for them to use and the final product was just awful. I didn't like the rollercoaster ride of the previous movies either.

I thought that one was a decent movie if you didn't think about the game.
