I saw these photos yesterday and I think they're amazing.
Apparently the locals were hoping they'd bring rain with them, but no such luck.

I've been in a smaller dust storm like that on the border of Victoria and New South Wales - never seen anything like it since, or before.
You definitely need to be indoors though, from my recollection (I was 14, and we were traveling to visit my brother who was teaching History at a school up there.)

That is one freaking huge storm though.
