it has to be right up there at the top, but taking abuse out of the argument, I think not allowing their kids to fail at things or try new things to test their limits.

No open communication

I used to be able to talk to my dad about anything. He would listen and then guide me in the right direction. In my opinion, open communication between a child and their parent/parents is vital. If a child has no one to talk to when they need help, then that child is going to feel alone and/or even afraid to go to their parent/parents. No child should be afraid to speak openly with their parent/parents or be made to feel that nobody cares enough to even listen to them.

Hmm kind of a hard thing to pinpoint. So I'll just say being a bad person.
