This is going to make you want to change your Facebook privacy settings immediately.

Blackmailers have stolen Facebook user’s profile pictures and doctored them to make it look like they were having sex in front of a child.

Horrifically the images were sent on to the victims’ employers.

As if that is not bad enough the victims were then sent Facebook messages demanding a $7,500 ransom.

They were told if they did not pay up the images would go viral and their lives would be ruined.

The incidents were reported to Cheshire Constabulary this week.

The victims were targeted after they were sent a friend request by a scammer posing as a girl.

The blackmailer was then able to gain access to their Facebook pictures.

Thoughts?

Another clever way of milking the money from the unsuspecting victims on teh interwebz. Might I suggest not having a Facebook account at all, and if you really must have it, keeping the dirty pictures where they belong - buried somewhere deep on your hard drive, preferably encrypted?

These weren't dirty pictures they were just profile pictures:

Maybe they were dirty profile pictures. ;)
