I'm guessing this is a good place for this. But when you were in School. At any point in time did they ever do like 90 minute block period classes? I know when I got to High School during my Freshman *9th grade year* They had like 4 90 minute block period classes. And I have to say, they were extremely helpful. The teacher had more time to help you, you could get things done and not have to worry about homework and the like. And it was completely pure crap when they removed it after that year. I and I'm pretty sure many others found it beneficial.

But yeah, has your school ever done something like this?

I worked at a K-8 school and the 7th and 8th graders had classes like that since there was only like 120 of them. They only had one teacher for each of the main subjects.

As for me, I always had seven or eight 40 minute periods throughout middle school and high school.

When I read the topic title I thought you wanted to block women from having periods or something.

Lmao! Nah man. Nothin' like that at all! And yeah, we pretty much had one teacher as well for each 90 minute class.

In middle school, we had 7 or 8 classes a day...but all throughout high school (I'll be a Senior this up coming year), we've been on block schedule. There are...gosh lemme think...2 60 minute classes and 3 90 minute classes (the 60 minute classes are electives...they've always been band and athletics for me)...lunch is 30 minutes. The two 60 minute classes stay the same for most (may change for others), but the other three classes change at the semester change. We'll have English, history and another class one semester and the next have algebra, science and another class. XD They were talking about changing it this year, and I really hope they don't...I'm so used to block schedule now. XD

I have 4 60min study periods each week. We're supposed to study, but no-one does. We just either chill in the common room, grab a bite to eat or hang out in the sun. If it happens to be 1st or last period we can go home.

I don't get why schools would change a good system like block periods.

They wanted to change it because our state exams are at the end of the year and since we have some classes at the first semester, we'll forget stuff by the time exams come...or something like that. I don't think they'll change it though...

Ah. Don't see how you could forget it if the teacher(s) stays on the subject every day. Had a History teacher like that in either my 10th or 11th year. And I think just about everybody who had his class managed to pass that end of year exam.
