Jk.. I'll never read the book and just fake all my answers.
I would be stressed out (if I did try to read the book) meeting the deadlines! The book club is on Wednesday and I am only on page 5 of this 400 page book.
I learned from American movies & tv shows that the whole book thing is just a pretense, an excuse to get together and drink wine. I remember a scene from a show (can't remember which one it was) where one of the ladies actually thought the book club is about reading and discussing books, so she read the assigned book and came prepared. She even tried to engage the rest of the "club" in a conversation about the book, but they just handed her a glass of wine and laughed at the fact she actually read the book, thinking the "book club" is about reading and discussing books.
Now, if I could just remember the name of the show and see if I can find the scene on YouTube...

It's entirely possible I found the wrong show. I have never watched thatI'm not 100% sure, but I think that's it. It's from Malcolm in the Middle. Huh. I seem to have misremembered some details, but otherwise, I was on point.
