Do you think less and less people in the world are reading books as the years go by?

Absolutely, it's come to a time I don't even read books unless I have too, that's from around 3-4 years ago where I used to read 1 book a year lol.

Thats what I was thinking as well.

I read mostly course literature, last ordinary book was finished a couple of months ago. I still read but not as much as I used to.

Aye because of the new e-Books that are coming out and the fact that you can read books on the internets and DSi. Even though I still read a lot and go through thick books like they were only a couple of pages thick.

I would sooner have my dusty, busted up, well-worn stack of books by me than to have to sit in front of this computer to read e-books. I can be curled up in bed or on my couch or my favorite chair or my lawn, for that matter, to read my tangible books.

I'd say that reading paper books is becoming passe' for most of the younger crowd, but my generation wouldn't give it up for anything.

I can tell you that in my immediate family alone, (Mom, Pops, Sister and me) we must read 25 books a year!

I would also prefer to read books. You can take them anywhere

And there's no batteries to charge. And I must say Smooth is right about paper books becoming more passe'. I know a few people that are my age (17) who like reading books. But there aren't many of us

We should make a Save the Book campaign.

I used to. I probably should start back. I have used ebooks a lot because I can't afford all the books I want to read and some are not in my public library.

The only e-books I've read are the course literature my teachers has linked me to. I hate reading on the computer, it annoys my eyes. Short things and manga are fine to read online, but books. yuck

Which reminds me I have 4 books I need to return to the library before I have to pay a late fee again... <.< one friggin day. 60SEK almost 10 dollars. Annoying.

I'm an avid book reader and belong to a book club. I read a book every night before I go to sleep. At work we have a swap box where we place books we have read and take a new one. Some of the books I donate to the public library here. There are people who love to read but can't afford the luxury of a computer.

I agree. I dont like reading books on the computer.

I hate reading books on the computer. It hurts my eyes.

A lot of people, and I mean a lot of people, at our school read books. Last year nearly every single girl had a book all year long, a lot of guys had them, and this year it's just the same.

But then, there are the people who never touch books.

I agree with rather having a real book then an e-one. Now.. magazines.. those are going out of style due to being able to find information quicker online.

Nah. One of my friends reignited my passion for reading, and I would rather have a book in front of me than an e-book or something of the like.
