A bride came up with the perfect surprise for her marriage to a horror film fan - a wedding cake in the shape of their severed heads.

Cake artist Natalie Sideserf, 28, spent 40 hours creating the cake to match her movie-themed wedding.

The lifelike heads were placed on a white board, with a banner reading: "Til Death Do Us Part."

The cake went on display at the couple's wedding in Austin's Alamo Drafthouse, Texas, a cinema that serves food and alcohol.

Mrs Sideserf said: "I didn't tell anybody about it, so it made it really interesting to see people's reactions. Everybody was shocked and loved it."

She admitted her grandma was not so keen on the cake, although she said she appreciated the detail and how realistic it was.

She said they chose it because her husband David Sideserf, 30, is a fan of scary movies.

Mrs Sideserf explained: "We were watching a horror movie, and I was always interested in sculpting lifelike cakes, especially in the face, so I thought: "How neat would it be if I did our severed heads?"

"And Dave was like: "That would be amazing"."

She posted photographs of the cake on her website.

Very realistic looking!

I don't think I could eat that, could you?

Weird... to each their own I suppose.

Someone file a complaint, these people can't quote, the bride can actually spell.

OMG
This is disgusting.. maybe because I don't like to see blood. I know this is not real blood but it is very realistic.
