Two fifth of Britons are bored with their lives and feel they have got stuck in a rut, according to a survey.
With the excitement of the summers Olympic and Paralympic sporting activities drawing to a close on Sunday, many people will now be wondering how they will fill their spare time ââ¬â and nearly 40% of us are bored with their current routine.
A new survey has found that three quarters of people questioned said they felt like they were doing the same thing each week.
It found that 75% people tend to eat in the same places, rotating between two to five different restaurants, while the same number said they rated watching television as their most common form of entertainment.
One in ten of those questioned said they rarely left the house at all at weekends, while two thirds said they did not venture beyond ten miles from home on Saturday's and Sundays.
The research, commissioned by online voucher site Groupon, revealed that half of those questioned wished their lives were more exciting and varied.
Confidence and lack of cash were cited as the things preventing people from trying new experiences.
Seven Suphi, a life coach and behavioural change specialist, said: It can be depressing when you feel like youââ¬â¢re stuck in a rut and for some, occupying yourself with mundane activities like the weekly food shop or cleaning the house.
As a nation we need a rethink of our out-of-work activities; experiences make us more well-rounded and interesting people.ââ¬Â
The research, conducted by Opinium polled 2,000 adults around the UK last month.

I think we've all felt stuck in a rut at some time or other. I know I have.
How about you?
