BronyCon (stylized as BroNYCon when in New York City) is a fan convention held every three to five months solely dedicated to the animated show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The convention was established by the show's growing number of followers, commonly known as bronies, and has since been hosted at multiple locations within the entire New York metropolitan area.
My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic first aired on The Hub network in October 2010, as part of Hasbro's intent to promote the fledgling network and market its new line of My Little Pony toys. Though a critical success with the target demographic of young girls and their parents, it attracted an unexpected audience of eighteen to thirty-year-old fans, primarily male.
