What does it look like to align technology with humanity’s best interests? Tristan Harris and Aza Raskin discuss how existing A.I. capabilities already pose catastrophic risks to a functional society

I'm gonna say yes, probably.

Yes, but it won't be enough to save us.

There are too many evil people who would take advantage of AI against humanity's best interests; and/or people who have perverted ideas of humanity's best interests.
- AI used to maximize rents is currently creating so many problems - can AI be used to counter this??
- AI used to create unstoppable diseases/toxins as weapons - AI can be used to counter this, but only in a reactionary manner
Those are examples I have at the top of my list (rent being of personal concern currently), but I'm sure the forum community could come up with more.

Well, there’s obviously the issue with AI being used and potentially misused in creative industries which partially contributed to the Hollywood strike, so yes to an extent. I’ve a thread on that.

Recent update:-Spotify won’t ban AI music on their platform but they’ll ban use of their content for training AI models.

Songs with cloned voices of real singers using AI have recently been removed from Spotify. I’m surprised they were approved in the first place 🙊!
