By all means move this if you don't think it's in the right forum. I'm not sure myself, but I thought that this was the closest related forum.

For quite a while now, I've been working on a platform game using a program called GameMaker. The gameplay is fairly basic at the moment, but I plan to improve it. The current zones in the game are:

Moonlight Meadow (which has 3 levels):

Abandoned Factory (which has 4 levels):

You play as Cape (the character in the two pictures), a machete-swinging porcupine. Tbere's also a few other characters in the game, but they're not as important.

Here's the link to the latest demo (containing the 2 areas above).

I'm currently working on a third zone for the game at the moment: Icy Ridge (which is almost completed, barring a couple of changes).

The collision kinda ruins it for me... I keep getting stuck in platforms and jumping too high seems to teleport me back to the start.

The squashing everything you run into part is fun though. As is the music... though it gets a bit repetitive after a while.

Could you make the help dialogue boxes disappear, they're kinda blocking my view of a shark trying to eat me

I'll admit that you're being creative, but I'm moving this to the Video Games forum anyway

Thanks for the input.

Pressing the ENTER key makes the dialogue boxes disappear (in some cases, you might have to press it twice).

R restarts the level when you get stuck. I've been trying to fix that problem for a while.

And also, I've finished the next demo with another level: Icy Ridge.
