Have you ever been in an accident? Was it your ever your fault? Describe to us what happened.

Early one morning, I was driving down an unfamiliar rural road. It was unsealed and I was probably going a bit too fast. Went round a corner and the rear wheels lost traction and began to fish-tail. I ended up plowing through a fence. Fortunately for me i was uninjured and the car only needed minor repairs. That kids, is what happens when you drive too fast, through road works whilst fatigued.

I remember one time when I was about 10 years old. I woke up in a ditch on the side of the freeway. My dad came to pick me up for the weekend and we were making the 100 mile trip back to where he lives. I fell asleep in the car and apparently he had been drinking during the trip home and wrecked his car. Nobody was hurt but he was arrested and I was taken back to the police station to wait for my mom to come pick me up. I think we made it about half way there.

I had a a VW Super Beetle that I bought cheap from a private sale. It was in excellent condition (inside and out) but needed a new engine. I called around and found a place that would replace the engine at a very reasonable price. They called me when the car was ready to be picked up (week later) and I went and got the car.

I was on my way to the bank to get some money and was at an intersection in front of a police department. I noticed a car speeding fast towards me in the opposite direction and another car at the intersection that was NOT going to stop for the stop sign. I pulled over (in front of the police station) to avoid an accident. As I sat there, the two cars collided and one car did a 360 and hit my car

Here I am minding my own business and my car was totaled. The police heard the accident and came running out. I had forgotten to put my seat belt on when I picked up my car and thought for sure I was going to get a fine for that. My legs were pinned under the dashboard and they had to call Jaws of Life to get me out. I was told by the police and paramedics that arrived that if I had my seat belt on, I would have never survived the accident as the seat belt would have cut off oxygen and I would have been a goner.

The thing that really pissed me off was the two cars that caused the accident, the occupants were fine and only their cars suffered minor damage

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad nobody was hurt but WTF! They were able to drive off and my car was a total wreck. We went to court and they would only give me Blue Book value on my car and after spending $800 for a new engine, I wound up getting $200 plus medical.

I was involved in a car accident, if that counts. I was crossing the road and a Volvo ran over my left foot, and managed to brake to such an extent that he came to a complete stop--with the rear wheel on top of my foot. I fell backwards with my foot still trapped, which shattered both bones in my lower left leg. The Sunday after the accident I had an operation to have a metal rod fitted, and am currently still recovering from it.

One accident was what I was about 10/12. My mother was driving towards a T-junction with traffic lights. The lights were on green so she went and as she was turning we got T-boned by another car that had come speeding out after running a red light. There was smoke everywhere and several people didn't bother to stop and see if we were okay. Then this couple came and called and ambulance, which took a while to get there. My mother had neck injuries and I had whiplash. Then the bastard decided to try an sue my mother, despite running a red light and speeding. The car my mother was driving was totaled.

Another accident I was in was when I was 17. We were driving down this road next to all the garages and there was a guy that was parking a show car in the front of his business. My mother stopped the allow him to pull into the road and reverse to place his car. After allowing him to do that, my mother thought that he wasn't going to do anything else so she started to drive. The guy pulled out just as my mother was setting off and hit that car side on near the front tire, slashing it to pieces. It all got sorted out in the end. The guy took my mother's car and fixed the tyre for free, got her some flowers and drove the car to her when it was done. No-one was harmed.

I've been in several others but I don't remember them.
