Sometimes I feel like just quitting work but I know that would be the irresponsible thing to do. I need to find a new job first and then quit. I've been doing furniture sales for over 5 years now - I've grown very tired of it, even resentful at times. It's just so hard to find a new job nowadays it feels like unless you know someone from the inside. It doesn't matter how much experience you have or that you have a degree. I am currently trying to get in with the City Municipal. I passed the required test now I just have to submit a bunch of paperwork, pass a series of interviews, and even a polygraph test. Fingers crossed though I get in, I think it will be a good opportunity.

Have you had to do a career change or fancied to have one? What has your experience been like?

I've made being a Paramedic my lifetime career. I love my job and wouldn't leave it for anything.

I want to take this opportunity to wish you the very best of luck. I hope you get the job with City Municipal!

In this economy, its best to hang on to whatever job you got!

However if you do find a new job and there is no possibility of lay offs in the near future, go for it!
