Have you ever caught someone stealing from you? How did it go down?

At work, a guy came in and asked for a plastic bag to put something he had 'brought elsewhere' one day.
The lady at the cash register was suspicious, but did it.

The next day he comes in, walks to the back of the shop and is sulking around and puts a can of stuff under his jacket and is spotted by not only the initial lady on the cash register, but also another co-worker of mine.
Anyway, who do you think they get to confront him? Yeah...
So I go up and say "Hey, what's up man?" and he immediately jumps to the defense saying "It's not what it looks like." and I play dumb and just say "What are you talking about?" and he just bolts to the front of the shop and out the door (and in the process loses what was seen going under the jacket.)

I never thought I'd be in that kind of situation. :P

Where we used to live I caught my daughter's neighbor friends stealing her toys from my backyard. I went and told their parents, they made the kids come and say sorry to my daughter + give back all her other missing toys. Apparently the time I caught them wasn't the first. Unrelated, but we didn't live there much longer after that and she never saw them again. She doesn't need friends like that anyway and has better ones now.

If work counts, we have quite a few people who come in to try and steal from us. Sometimes we are all over it and manage to scare them off, other times when it's too busy or we're understaffed, we can miss it and then find empty shoe boxes later (as well as other stuff).
