Charging phone at the airport?

There are warnings about charging your phone while at the airport, using their ports. Do you buy into that? Have you charged your phone there?
 
That’s if you use the USB ports. If you use the wall outlet, it’s 100% safe. As your charging brick only delivers electricity.
 
I have not seen a charging station at the airport. I only seen them in local malls here in my country.
 
I have never heard of this issue and so I always have no problem charging my phone at the airport. Maybe I should look more into it so as to be more careful next time.

There's reports of bad actors modifying the USB ports to load malware on your phones, and disguise them as charging ports. Though using a wall outlet is completely safe.
