Hello everyone!

Just wanted to let you know that I'm okay. We have been without power since 1 pm yesterday. There are over 100k customers without power right now. I am using my generator to power my computer but cannot stay on for long. There are trees down all over my property and am on a waiting list for a crew to come out and clean them up. There are several roads closed due to flooding. I hope they get the power restored soon but it may take until tomorrow. Hope others that were in the path of this storm are all safe!

So glad to hear you are OK Jazzy, hope all your Zoo Crew are too.

Did you get called out to anyone ?

Glad you're okay. And as I said on your wall it's surprising there was less damage and deaths than they had thought there would be.

Back online via my generator again. Power has now been out for a little more than 24 hours. Thank you everyone for your concern.

I'm really glad that you and your animals are safe and well and that you have power back again. I hope life gets back to normal for you all quickly. What a dreadful storm that was! Hugs to you and yours.

~Update~

Just got notified that the power will not be restored until sometime next week. All I can say is thank goodness I have the generator to power my essential appliances. I can only use the computer for an hour or two at the most. I let the generator run for a few hours and then shut it off for awhile. I do this to save on gas. It's cost over $50 in gas to fill the generator each time. Half the roads in my area are washed out and it makes it hard to get anywhere. I'm one of the lucky ones as my house is fine. A lot of homes and businesses have lost everything due to flooding.

The mayor is surveying the damage via helicopter as major roads into my area are washed out. This is one suck full situation.

Oh gosh Jazzy, I do hope your generator lasts long enough to see you through.

It could be that they are dealing with the most urgent cases first, the elderly

and those without cooking and heating etc and who don't have generators.

The problem is trying to get to areas where power is out. A lot of the roads are washed out or blocked with downed trees. In my immediate area, there are only 50 of us without power. They are not going to care about only 50 people when there are thousands more outside my area that are out too. We will be the last area to be restored and maybe it will take longer than a week. I have no clue and can only wait now. I have friends that are trying to get to me with extra cans of gas. I'm glad this happened now and not in the dead of winter.

Isn't there some way to get that gas money back through insurance or something?

Maybe compensation for being without power?

The insurance is not going to pay for my gas money. The power company will not compensate for a natural disaster causing power outages.

Day 3 without power. Looks now like it will take several more days to get power restored back in my area.
