This really didn't seem to fit in any other thread.

But I found it interesting.

As growth slows, China's huge investment in infrastructure is looking ever harder to sustain, leaving a string of ambitious projects - towns, shopping malls and even a theme park - empty and forlorn.

We have spoken a lot about these ghost towns in Ireland and Spain recently [but China] is Ireland and Spain on steroids, says Kevin Doran, a senior investment fund manager at Brown Shipley in the UK.

Hmm, looks like a good opportunity to get a hold of half a town. If you keep maintaining it, people will move in eventually... and if you don't, you'll have a lot of space to put stuff. Oh, better yet, put a fence around it and sell paint ball guns at the gate!

There are births of Chinese cities but deaths of Chinese amusement parks. They seem to care about the new residential opportunities rather than the amusement.

You could find some rogue artists and some aging hippies and a few has-been musicians and have yourself one hell of a commune.
That sounds even better.
