Chris Brown Faces Prison Over LA Car Crash

Chris Brown is facing up to a year in prison after being charged following an alleged hit-and-run in Los Angeles.

The LA city attorney's office has also charged the singer with driving without a valid licence.

A spokesman said the charge related to a minor accident on May 21 in the San Fernando Valley.

It is not up to the county district attorney's office and the courts to determine if the case will have any effect on Brown's felony probation in the 2009 beating of singer Rihanna.

Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault of his then-girlfriend and was sentenced to five years of probation and six months of community service.
