Christmas comes early as mince pies go on sale today

While many of us cling optimistically to the hope that we might yet get our late Indian summer, over at Tesco the focus is firmly on the future as the supermarket giant fills its shelves with the first of the festive foods.



Today, 107 days before Christmas, thousands of packets of mince pies have gone on sale at the store to satisfy the sweet tooth of the customers Tesco says are clamouring for the treat all year round.

'This is a food loved by Brits - last year they managed to eat 300 million mince pies between September and Christmas. The sales figures speak for themselves.

This is a great marketing strategy for Tesco. That's a lot of mince pies!
