The average benefit @62 would be $1, 300. Would that be enough for you to live on?

According to the Social Security Website, yes you would get that amount @62 years old.
I make 1,900 a month. I have my own home. I'd have to be careful with what I spent it on and budget it for what needs to be paid. On second thought, I'd probably get a part time job.
Would be great to get one that would pay you "off the books" so you wouldn't have to report it.
Can they withhold your SS benefits if you start working again?
No. You just have to be careful how much money you make by taking a part time job. As of 2013, when you get SS benefits between the month you turn 62 and the month you reach full retirement age, you lose $1 in benefits for every $2 you earn from working in excess of $15,120.
