Coming Soon: The Department of the Internet
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2mzMcRPO2I

Visit www.ProtectInternetFreedom.com to stop the government takeover of the Internet.

In a world where the web is open and free and innovation spans the globe, one man has a secret plan to seize control of the Internet.
He has a phone. He has a pen. And he claims he has the power to do it.
It’s not the first secret government plan to take over a sector of the US economy.
NANCY PELOSI: We have to pass this bill to find out what’s in this bill.
VOICE OVER: But against all odds, one man is fighting back.
AJIT PAI: I want a free and open Internet. Most people do.
VOICE OVER: One man believes Americans deserve to know more.
AJIT PAI: The public has a right to know what its government is doing.
VOICE OVER: One man shines light into the darkest corners government.
AJIT PAI: If you told the average American that the FCC is going to propose regulations for the Internet economy that are 332 pages longand you're not going to be able to see it until the FCC adopts it, they would think that's the wrong way to go.
LARRY KING: Wait a minute. You can’t tell me what’s in the document?
AJIT PAI: That is correct.
VOICE OVER: From the government that brought you , spying on journalists, an abuse of power from the IRS comes, and HealthCare.Gov comes the Department of the Internet.
MARTHA MACALLEN: Net neutrality is Obamacare for the Internet. The Internet should not operate at the speed of government
"Let the litigation begin."
- Trial Lawyers Daily
"We’re not going to work hard, but we’re sure going to bill hard."
- The K Street Journal
"You can fool all of the people all of the time."
- The Politicians Insider
VOICE OVER: Coming Soon -- on February 26th -- prepare for the Department of the Internet.
But it’s going to take more than one man to stop the government’s takeover of the Internet.
Contact Congress today and demand to find out how the FCC plans to change the Internet. Congress should demand that this rule be made public before the FCC votes on it in two weeks.
AJIT PAI: Let the American public see this plan.

are you for or against the government take-over of the internet?

Don't worry, they'll run it better than they do school lunches.

Bad example, I mean...

They'll run it better than they do the Health Care website.

No... ahhh...

Section 8 Housing.

How about, "the War on Terror"?

The Post Office?

I know, "They'll run it better than they do The District of Columbia!"

Pretty much....

It's had a nice run.

I have no intention of being an "approved user", like they've done with the TSA and it's "OK to fly" list that is really working well... ... yeah.

I hear the local newspaper is looking for somebody to cover HS sports... maybe I'll dust off my press pass and go see about it.

maybe you should...

The INTERNET is a shining example of how well something can do when government does not get involved. The INTERNET is a truly free place for all and that will be gone before you can say the words regulations if government gets its dirty grubby little fingers in it. Everything government touches and every last program they create is a complete and utter failure but yet some fool will be more then happy to hand it over to the incompetence we call the federal government.

“They are worse than the U.S.” – Edward Snowden
The widespread surveillance practices of the British and U.S. governments, unveiled by Edward Snowden in June last year, put Britain’s Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) and its U.S. equivalent, the National Security Agency (NSA), at the centre of a worldwide scandal.  As part of its project “Mastering the Internet”, GCHQ has developed the world’s biggest data monitoring system. Supported by the NSA and with the prospect of sharing data, the British agency brushed aside all legal obstacles and embarked on mass surveillance of nearly a quarter of the world’s communications.[/font]

This is STILL on the FBI's 'background check' page.

As part of her job, my wife submits information to them for background checks on prospective school employees.

"it used to take 8 to 12 weeks to get a report back. Now, it's gotten worse and takes longer...."

On September 7, 2014, CJIS installed a new IT system. As a result of this installation, we are experiencing delays in processing. Please be assured that each issue is being identified and resolved as quickly as possible, but at this time anticipated processing time for an Identity History Summary is approximately 14-16 weeks. Allow additional time for mail delivery.

Given that, and the ongoing mess with the healthcare thing....

"the Net's had a nice run", indeed.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton signaled support for the Federal Communications Commission upcoming vote to make the internet a Title II public utility.

When asked directly by Re/Code’s Kara Swisher if she supported the FCC’s upcoming vote, she said she supported President Obama’s position on the issue.

What should we expect when the government seizes control of the Internet?
