I find them more annoying online.

Such as Yahoo's flash garbage on the main portal page that has to run before anything else works.

Or the talking commercials on CNN and some of the others. There's a reason I leave my computer speakers off, but sometimes I want to hear something, and then forget to turn them off before moving on, and ... damn.

Not to mention the blinking banner ads that can cause migraines, and all the rest.

Agree 100%!

Sometimes.........they have their place when I have to take the dogs out! LOL

I dont like commercials at all. Especially when you ARE PAYING for your cable bill.

They tend to bother me, but I sort of want them for breaks.
Not that I really watch TV that much, but still.

I completely agree with this myself. I rarely watch TV, and more often watch either Netflix or DVDs with friends, so I don't normally deal with TV ads.

I do like listening to internet radio though, and ads on them can get quite annoying, if not straight up repetitive, since they seem to cycle even less on the radio.

Yeah, they're really annoying. Without them, the TV channel wouldn't have enough money to run so I'm not going to complain too much.

When we were camping I was forced to watch local broadcast TV for the morning news.

A couple of local businesses have evidently made their own commercials.

Somebody, somewhere, decided that the best possible course of action was to use the owner's elementary school age children to shout at the camera.

One was for a car dealer, but I couldn't tell what they were saying. I'm not sure what the other one was selling, perhaps they were shouting about a building, or maybe interior decorating. I have no idea which, if either.

In the annoyance file. The gratuitous use of children has to be top 5.

Dr. L, you're not alone.

I had to go through stupid local commercials starring children from elementary, middle, and high school. These commercials are not only for the TVs for school, but for football games for two high schools near me. These commercials are far worse than the recent Super Bowl commercials.

Oh, and have you noticed that the volume on some of them is starting to creep back up.

Particularly the ones with the sharp minor chord background music designed to be annoying so you pay attention. There's a couple of the diet magic potion scam commercials with that feature.

The noise on them annoys me. The TV programs aren't even that loud!

You can go here:

http://www.fcc.gov/complaints

click "Broadcast (TV and Radio), Cable, and Satellite Issues" then on the next page pick "Loud Commercials" and tell Uncle about it.

If they get enough complaints, they may make a phone call or two.

I like how very disturbing that is. She would've made a fine Cylon.

Some of them can be very annoying. I usually just go get something to drink or eat. When I get back, they're over.

I hate commercials. On TV, it doesn't bother me as much, but online when I'm watching TV, definitely. It just gets so annoying. n_n

Commercials (or adverts which I usually call them by) annoy me in general, especially when they appear while watching a film on TV. Thank goodness I have Sky+, where in a recorded programme you can fast-forward those annoying things.

Oh, by the way.

The FCC has chosen not to enforce the 'loud commercial' CALM (Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act) law.

When you fill out a complaint they simply reject it, in spite of the fancy language on their web site.

It could be a good product, I don't know. But that Jardiance Jingle is MOST annoying. o_O :)

Sometimes, especially the ones that run several times in a row about the same damn thing.

That was bizarre!

Anyway, last week I stayed in a hotel, they had Direct TV in the room with all the channels. Stuck mostly to HBO and Cinemax because all the other channels had commercials. Boo.

At home I just watch tv on all the streaming apps so commercials are non-existent.

You know the ones where they scream?

Yes. I usually just mute the TV.

Yeah sometimes they play the same ad during EVERY SINGLE COMMERCIAL BREAK :panic: :banghead: :p

I find them all so annoying. It also played a big factor in me buying many many shows and movies on DVD just so I didn't have to sit through absurdly long commercial breaks. I refused to pay for Cable or Dish Network for years up until I got married so my ex wife and my kids could watch what they wanted.
