Subject: Correspondence from Senator Coons

Dover, DE 19903

Dear Dr. Levite:

Thank you for writing to me. I appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts with me on an issue that is important to you.

As I consider any issue that comes before the U.S. Senate, I am most concerned about how federal action on the issue will affect people in Delaware. I have profound respect and gratitude for Delawareans who take the time to share their views with me. This open dialogue is critical to how I make decisions and set priorities.

As I visit with residents and businesses across our state, I see opportunities for growth and job creation, and am reminded that government at all levels can and should be a partner in our economic recovery. My first priority as U.S. Senator must be to help get the economy back on a solid footing and spur job creation. I am also committed to working together in Washington to tackle our growing federal budget in a balanced way that cuts our long term debt and ensures our economic stability and national security.

I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Senate on the Appropriations, Judiciary, Budget, and Foreign Relations Committees to affect positive change for Delawareans, and all Americans.

Again, thank you for contacting me. I am honored to represent Delaware in the United States Senate and truly value hearing from Delawareans on issues of concern. My website, www.coons.senate.gov, can provide additional details about my work in the Senate, including legislation and state projects. I value your input and hope you will continue to keep me informed of the issues that matter to you.

Sincerely,
Christopher A. Coons
United States Senator

The above is the entire email, minus my personal contact information.

You will notice one glaring omission in the letter.

Nowhere in the email subject line or in the body text does it identify the topic.

Talk about your 'general subject boiler plate', this one, is a work of art.

Unfortunately for the Senator, I do know what subject I had sent a comment to him about, and I READ his reply expecting at least some reference to it.

Oh, well.

What issue is he responding to?

~Edit~ This reply was posted at the same time as Dr Leftovers 2nd post.

I simply asked the Delaware Congressional Delegation why the FCC was being allowed to ignore the enforcement of the CALM (Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation) act.

Yes, Off Topix has a member who has the audacity to expect our elected politicians (or at least their correspondence staff) to say something meaningful at least once in awhile.

This sentence really made me laugh:
I value your input and hope you will continue to keep me informed of the issues that matter to you.
This is nothing but a generic letter that sounds like it was written by a robot.

I had thought that maybe your question to him was: "Why can't I ever get an answer to my questions?" O.o

I would expect a computer to actually mention the subject, they have all the time in the world.
