Islamic State: Smoking will kill you, one way or another

Feb 12

Beheadings have become commonplace in the territories held by the militant Islamic State, but the severed head reportedly found last month in the eastern Syrian city of Al-Mayadeen was nevertheless unusual.

It had a cigarette placed between its lips.

“This is not permissible, Sheikh,” someone had scrawled in Arabic on the decapitated corpse lying nearby, according to an account from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a pro-opposition monitoring group. The body and head belonged to an Islamic State official, a deputy police chief.

From consuming alcohol to cursing, vices of all types are frowned upon by Islamic State.

The truth can really hurt sometimes. Just look at our dear leaders comments on the stances he takes. At best very accurate.

Wow! Had no idea the American freedom fighters at that time were purposely targeting and blowing up innocent civilians. And then the ones they did capture were decapitated, set on fire or thrown from high elevations for family members to be forced to watch as there bodies are crushed.

Clearly not any extreme like that, however it is estimated that approx 50,000 American's who were Loyalist during the revolution were forced from their lands and homes for supporting the British during the war.  These Loyalist had to flee for their lives and went to Eastern Canada primarily around the Nova Scotia and Quebec.

It did seem though that the punishment at the time was to tarr and feather loyalists:

People always get displaced in war. Nothing unusual.

The founders like John Adams, Washington, Jefferson and Franklin were openly against that act.

No, I went back in time and John Adams would take me to his favorite pub and we would chat it up all night by candle light talking about how they would create a nation. Jeez!

Well it is a horrible one. The founders documented everything about there lives in writing.

These private Mobs, I do and will detest," he wrote to his wife Abigail on July 7, 1774. "These Tarrings and Featherings, these breaking open Houses by rude and insolent Rabbles, in Resentment for private Wrongs or in pursuance of private Prejudices and Passions, must be discountenanced."

Really? Do you mean the top-left? The top is authoritarian. So you can be "left" or "right" and be authoritarian. Top-left would be your Lenins, Mao Tse-Tung, and Fidel Castros, because farther left is communism. Top-right has your George W. Bush, Thomas Hobbes, and David Cameron, the top right is neo-liberalism. To be fascist is to be top center, which would be your Hitlers. Seems like you have confused communism and authoritarianism with fascism.

No not really you just classify it a little different then I do.

Hitler, lenin, mao, fidel castro, tse-tung were all communists with just different ways of controlling the people with there propaganda. Like Hitler giving the impression to the people that corporations actually controlled there own business.

Bush was a progressive and had very little about him being on the right as a conservative.

Thomas Hobbes in modern times would have been somewhere between a socialist and communist.

And in American terms David Cameron would be considered a flaming leftist liberal and highly despised by conservatives if he was president here.
