Mobile 'cube-destruction' game Curiosity is approaching a conclusion, thanks to its developer cutting the number of layers that will need to be finished before the endgame.

The game, whose full title is Curiosity – What's Inside the Cube?, involves the time consuming removal of billions of cubelets from a giant cube, achieved simply by tapping a smartphone's screen. To assist players in finishing the cube before the end of their natural lifespan, everyone playing the massive multiplayer game is working on dismantling the same cube.

Molyneux promises that there is a deep secret at the centre which will change the life of the player who reaches it first, but its true nature remains a mystery.

He claims that five million users have been involved so far, with 100 million cubelets destroyed per day.

Molyneux says that what awaits at the centre of the cube will "change that person’s life forever" but is scant on detail.

Curiosity is free from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store on any Android or iOS device fast enough to render the giant, multi-billion-segment cube.
