We are moving in less than a month.
We will NOT be getting cable or satellite TV in our new old house.
Why, you may ask.
I point to this morning's TV guide listing as a fine example.
It is now 0800 EDT, I just checked out the listings from now until noon.
There is NOTHING on that I would sit and watch even given the over 150 channels that come with our basic service. Most of what was there was infomercials or reruns of shows I never saw to begin with.
The same thing happened Tuesday after my last knee shot. From about 1100 until late in the afternoon, there was nothing worth watching on.
I do not watch "reality" or game shows, sit-coms, or soaps. And I have no interest in most of the "talk" shows. And I refuse to watch any of the "celebrity" programing on general principles.
In short, I don't watch anything that will make me dumber than I already am. And I will not have the extra income to make it worth paying for a service that only shows two baseball or hockey games a week. No thank you.
My wife already watches most of the things she's interested in online, and she has promised to show me how to do it, once I get a laptop made sometime in the last decade that can do that.
So, we'll be fine.
And save approximately $60 a month in the process.
