It's likely that a woman in Yonkers has been living with her father's corpse in a garbage-filled home, police said Saturday.

Investigators found human remains of an elderly man who has been dead for several years on Friday after the man's daughter -- who's under psychiatric care -- relayed the information to her lawyer, said Yonkers Police Lt. Frank Bubbico.

Police initially went to the Alexander Avenue home on Thursday night, but they couldn't enter because of clutter, mold and other health hazards.

It was very decrepit, Bubbico said.

Police returned on Friday in protective uniforms and made the grisly find in a bedroom.

Neighbors described the woman as hoarder in her 60s said that the father had been suffering from cancer.

Some said trash and feces were piled feet high in the home.

She's a sick lady,' Louis Longo told ABC News.

Bubbico said the man's cause of death is still to be determined.

We don't know exactly how long he's been dead or what he died from, he said. We found the body and that's all we know.
