So after a trip to a clinic today. I learned the unfortunate truth I'm borderline diabetic. High blood pressure and diabetes in my mom's side of the family virtually meant it was bound to happen.

No more Hot Pockets for you then?

Sorry but that statement is false. Being that it runs on you mom's side of the family only means you ran a higher risk. If you were eating a healthy diet (not Hot Pockets), exercising and keeping your weight under control, this could have been avoided. I don't believe, from reading your posts that you do any of the three I mentioned. I'm not trying to sound mean but, you thinking that no matter what you did, this was going to happen is not true.

This, in my opinion, is a wake up call to change your lifestyle and keeps this borderline.

A diet is a better option than a needle.

You are still on the 'border', do everything you can to stay there.

Intend too! I know it'll be hard though. Especially since at work I go through like 4 to 5 cans of Dr. Pepper.

Pretty much, except every now and then. Or if I am successfully able to reduce my weight and the like, won't be as much of an issue.

I do eat other things then Hot/Lean Pockets. I just tend to mention those a lot more since I love em a lot o.0. And I know you aren't sounding mean. I realized what I said probably could have been worded better. And yes, this is a bit of a wake up call for me.

Agreed. I managed to get by though yesterday by drinking 2 Sprites spaced out through out the night.

Excellent.

The one thing with 'diet' drinks you have to watch out for is which fake sugar sweetener that is in them. Some of them can have some serious side-effects in some people such as triggering headaches, diarrhea, and even rashes. Sometimes all at once.

You may be better off with fewer of the real drinks than ANY of the diet ones.

Thanks on that man.

Thank ya, surprisingly I've done well.

And on update on this. I went to the doctor's yesterday, Was told I need to drop at least 30 pounds. I'm at 252. Which is a significant low for me since I last visited on the 5th. Although would be at 249, but family comin' around and Pizza being involved. o.0 I will have to see a foot doctor at some point. Just waiting on them to get in contact with one that my insurance will cover. They also got me on another fluid pill. Although this one is less stronger then the one I was on.

Update: After several days of not having my Metformin, I finally managed to get that refilled. And visited the Foot doctor yesterday. Apparently I've been wasting my time using the Bactroban creme I was given back in June. And told me to start using Lamisil. Either the rub on or spray kind. And use this rubbing anti-persperant stuff on my foot.

Here's a tip for you if you are a diabetic, Mr. Black:

If you are able to exercise, doing that can cause you blood glucose to drop hours later, depending on how intense and how long your activity is.

To help prevent low blood glucose, check your blood glucose about every 45 minutes after a hard workout and gauge whether your blood glucose is going down, going up, or leveling off. If it is going down, eat a few carbohydrates and keep checking until you level off.

I don't need to tell you this but I will anyway: You should never be without your medication. Skipping doses is not a good thing.

Well its not like I was skipping intentionally. I just didn't have any to take and I didn't really have anyone I could ask to take me at the time. I probably could have asked my neighbor, but at times I feel like I tend to annoy her somehow.

When you start to get low then you should get your refill. Don't wait until you are completely out. Even a day without your medication could throw your whole system out of whack.
