How do you discover new bands to listen to? Do you take recommendations from your friends? Or use things like Last.fm and Spotify to suggest similar artists?

I get new stuff from my boys, wife and the internet.

Youtube recomendations, Last.fm, Tune in Radio stations, Radio 2, Radio 2 folk night, festivals, concerts - support bands, word of mouth, local gigs.

I have suck picky tastes that it's difficult to find music that I actually like. Plus, what I like isn't exactly mainstream anymore, nor is it music that is often made, so I have to go to obscure resources and when I finally come across something after sifting through dozens and dozens, sometimes hundreds, of songs/artists, I may eventually find one song I like out of the lot.
