Have you ever been discriminated on a forum before?

I have, on one forum. This guy got all annoyed that I was posting pictures of guys instead of girls in a hot or not type of board, he gave me a pm asking me to stop. I told the admin about it ( I didn't reveal who asked me to stop), and the admin said that the forum doesn't discriminate. So he made a topic in the part of the board saying that they don't discriminate and then the member apologized to me.

Another time, there was a topic where everyone was posting random images of girls. So I said can I post pics of guys? so I posted an image of a guy, then the members were all like eeeeeewww!!!!!

Then I told them that they shouldn't be like that and that I put it in spoilers!

Then the admin apologized and said that they don't discriminate.

Another time on an anime forum, there was a club for Ecchi (pretty much a Japanese word meaning lewd, sexy Ecchi is mostly female, but it is also male)

So I said, I'd join if I could post guys instead. Me and another member started posting a bunch, so then a bunch of A holes started going Eeeeww!! we have to get the manliness back to this topic!! and then they started posting girls again. So I told them that I didn't want to be a member anymore, then I posted a picture of two guys that I even find creepy as a goodbye from the group A holes type of thing.

I'm sorry to hear that hotspot. I don't discriminate against anyone and I myself haven't been discriminated.

Well if you are on a forum full of straight guys and you go posting pictures of men with out shirts on / in a thong or whatever, naturally you are going to make the member-base uncomfortable or offended.

I haven't personally suffered any kind of discrimination on any of the forums I have been a member of.

I certainly wouldn't allow any kind of discrimination on my own forums.

However, I do agree with Nebulous's take on things and think common sense should prevail where at all possible.

Well I wouldn't say offended, but more like grossed out or something. However in the one it was totally okay, not to mention I did put them in spoilers and did say that I posted guys instead. (Also only one of the forums I posted real guys, the other two were actually anime guys.)

They looked at their own risk! XD

Never had this happen to me

I don't discriminate against anyone. All members on my forum are treated as equals. I don't think I've ever been discriminated against on other forums, though.

yes but i dont want to go in to it............it was cos i am British and the American members (and mods) ganged up on me and someone else cos we dared say that America was wrong about something....which was true but they wouldnt hear of it

I have to agree with that one, if it ever became such a large differential that people started arguing viciously at one another I would either threaten to remove the section or create a second for both said topics. But to be honest, I have never had that happen, one because my forums don't have a section at which you can post such content and because we only have 4-5 girls on the forum.
