Disturbing footage of nurse ‘biting and beating newborn baby to stop her crying’

A nurse has been arrested after she allegedly bit and hit a newborn baby.

Emiliya Kovacheva, herself a mother, was filmed apparently attacking a four-day-old baby in Sofia, Bulgaria.

The baby suffered horrific injuries and there were fears that she may not have survived.

Prosecutors allege that she was frustrated because the baby would not sleep and that she punished her to stop her from waking other babies in the room.

But the attack was filmed and she is now facing charges of attempted murder which carries a possible 20-year prison sentence.

She admitted hitting the baby during her 24-hour shift after seeing video evidence.

Hospital spokesman Boriana Marinkova said: ‘The most important thing for a child’s parents is to see how the baby will recover, other things are not so important.’

I don't think I've ever seen something so disturbing in my life. Can't decide if I'm weak or justified in not being able to watch after the first punch. I do know that with every fiber of my being I want to find this woman and deliver some rough justice although no punches would be enough. I never will understand how there are people like this in the world. She needs to never see the light of day.

Well I can only agree with you on all accounts. Now you wonder how she would also think that a baby that old could associate what she was doing as a punishment for what it was doing. Did she really expect the baby to stop crying and be a good child after that, what a sick idiot

That made me feel physically sick to see such horrific treatment to a baby. I hope she get beaten to death in jail. As she deserves.
