Do Attractive People Have Advantages Others Don’t?

Give us your take on the power of makeup and the societal “rewards” of beauty. Have you seen attractive people gain certain advantages? If so, why do you think it happens? What about the theory that it’s the confidence of the attractive people, not their looks alone, that draws people to them?

It is not about the looks. People shouldn't be giving attractive people 'perks' in life because their face is little bit different from others or they have a better body shape. The only people that should be reaping in rewards in life is the people that have done good things and is honest, respectful. Not the people that look good.

Thats how things should work, but in a lot of scenarios it doesn't. A lot of people get ahead in life based on their looks and/or who they know. Other people may get ahead based on merit, but they probably have to work harder for it.

I've seen allot of things like this happen. I've also seen allot of my friends faking to have a six pack on Facebook and they get 89378957097549 friend request. When they don't have a 6 pack they get 1 maybe.

I honestly wish life wasn't the way that it is in that regard. However, the truth is that attractive people simply have many advantages over those who lack "the looks."

Hopefully one day we will see a generation that changes that.

Of course they have advantages. See a lot of talented ugly girls on MTV lately? What about hot talentless ones autotuning the crap out of things? Yeah...

Of course there are advantages of being attractive but they also bring disadvantages too. One disadvantage is being used for your looks( this holds especially true for women) There is no freedom in beauty as it holds a different set of chains that ugliness hold but they are chains still the same. Real freedom is in not building your value or self worth in that which can fade and/or be destroyed.

Sure they might look popular but you have to ask yourself how many of the people that surround them actually love them and not just their appearance? One thing that life has taught me is that one deep friendship is worth more then all the shallow friendships that you could have.

Deep friendships are with people who value your character while shallow ones just value the things you have that benefit them and them alone.
