Its' like my inner voice....Do you have an inner monologue?
If so, is it asking you deep questions or narrating your life?
Yeah. No, not really. I feel it's more like...aww yeah!
just without Brad Pitt's voice.
The topic of inner monologues is really interesting. Some have said that something like 50 to 70% of people don't have an inner monologues. Which is astounding to me, I can't even conceive of what it would be like to function like that. For myself I very much have an inner monologues. One which is experienced as containing multiple points of reference. Which is helpful when I am trying to learn theory. But at times it can also be through imaginary internal conversations with people I know.
Yes, my anxious brain is my inner monologue.
Yes, I have generalized anxiety disorder and am on Lexapro. It doesn't get rid of the anxiety completely, but it tones it down a lot.Are you always anxious?
I remember someone on social media once mentioning how they think more in terms of visuals. I wonder if for a fair amount of them they are simply more outwardly focused and in tune with their environment and/or senses. I have seen people asking about it on some groups I am in on Facebook and from the opposite perspective they express that they are genuinely confused as to how someone can have an internal monologue.24/7 ?
I am thinking those without inner monologues just do everything based on instinct and gut reactions, kind of like an animal does? I dunno
