do you like it when people shorten your name

for example: I would prefer it if people called me emily, that's my name.

but if people insist on em, I guess I'm okay with it... I'm not thrilled, but it's okay

I don’t really mind if people shorten them or nicknames either.

depends on what the nickname is

one of mine was scar owing to all the abuse marks on my face

Aww that’s horrible. Sorry you had to go through that. Luckily I just either had nice or funny ones.

My name can't be shortened in any meaningful way. There are variations of it, some a letter or two shorter, others a letter or two longer, but those variations are also names unto themselves, some people actually have those variations as names, so they're not uncommon.

'Sup, Meg? ;)

I don't mind. But if people prefer their names in full, that is fine. My own name is rather difficult to pronounce so I get called 'Annie'.

The idea is okay with me; but I always like to know which the owner of the name prefers; and use that choice (if I can remember ). :)

I prefer it. Mandy > Amanda

Doesn't matter what you call me, just don't call me late to dinner. :p
