Do you like using subtitles?

How do you feel about making of subtitles whenever you're watching movies and TV shows? Do you find them very helpful or a kind of distraction?

Personally, I can't watch any movie without the subtitle because it helps me to focus well in the movie's discussion and not miss anything.

Subtitles are a must for me. I am hard of hearing and the subtitles allow me to understand enjoy the movie or tv shows that I watch.

My spouse has issues processing audio, so they often have to have captions on when we're watching shows and movies together. It doesn't bother me at all, though I don't like it when the captions don't match with what the characters are saying or if they get out of sync lol.

Same. I've missed out on watching some show like Squid Game because of subtitles and if I watch the English dub the mouth movements don't match the words.

I hate watching series’ or movies without subtitles. I can still understand what is being said without them, like at the cinema, where I don’t exactly get a choice, but I hate it.

I don't like them. If the movie / show is in another language, I'd rater watch it dubbed. When you're reading sentences at the bottom of the screen you miss whats going on sometimes.

With or without subtitles, I don't mind. If it's on in a movie or TV show, I'm okay with it but if it's not, I will not bother. I can enjoy the movie without it very well.
