Do you listen to music as you study or work?

Does it help you be more productive or distract you?

It was nice the Walmart Radio played music I'd listen to anyway.

I cannot live without music. CBC Music on all day. I adjust time zones to hear my favourite shows, mainly classical/jazz.

I love music, we have a radio on in the store, but when I am in the back office doing paperwork love putting in some headphone while on the computer.

I used to listen to music on the radio most all of the time around the house. Sometimes now on the computer speakers, but really not so much.
AM Radio has gone to crap; I miss what it was.

I avoid listening to music while programming because I need focus on problem solving.

No, I find it to be distracting. My work requires too much brain capacity to really enjoy the music. I am also multitasking 90% of the time, switching through screens, running around the clinic, taking calls, triaging, etc. If I wasn't doing as much as I do and was focusing on one task, then maybe I would.

I sometimes listen to music when I'm at work. I normally just like to listen to my favorite band while I drive from location to the next.

I usually listen to podcasts while working but sometimes I change it up. 80s music gets me pumped.

Sure. On and off at work if things are going slow. Mostly the Deftones on the down low.

Yes, I need to! Can't live without music.

I listen to K-Pop while working a lot of the time. I never liked listening to music when I was in school. It was too distracting.

Yes it helps me be productive, I live and breathe music though so that's why. I sometimes need the silence to totally focus on something if I'm overwhelmed and challenged but otherwise I prefer to have music or a podcast playing.

I listen to wordless music as I study, clean or need to concentrate. If the song or music has words then I end up getting distracted by listening to the words.

I love to listen to music at home, but if I'm at work I tune it out. The work radio station is awful; I struggle to find anything that they play the slightest bit enjoyable and they always repeat the same music on a daily basis. Plus we're approaching the holidays, so I also have to prepare myself to hear Christmas music played about a month ahead of schedule.

When I'm working from home, I'll sometimes put on a suitable (soft jazz or something else light) playlist on Spotify. Rarely, if a new album I'm pumped for has dropped, I will put it on (but a lot of my hotly anticipated albums this year are metal and that's not the greatest music for working to). In office, I tend not to unless I'm hunkering down and trying to focus on something so want to give the illusion that I'm on a meeting to people who come to my door. :whistles:
