I usually try it that way to be honest and then buy the product(ofc unless there is a demo version). I can't spend my whole salary on something I know nothing about :(

If I did, I sure wouldn't admit it.

I’ve done it several times for stuff like Windows, Office, and Photoshop. I did it to try out different audio production software, and i did eventually buy it. It’s like, if I used it that much, I might as well give them money for it.

Some software don’ t offer trials at all, or the trial is so limited, it might as well be a joke.

No. That sort of thing can get you into trouble if the wrong people find out about it. I'd rather just buy something over stealing it. When you buy something, you don't have to worry about getting into trouble.

It depends, I paid for all my sites software legitimately and I buy all my games legitimately, but I'd never pay for Windows or Photoshop.

Tbh, you gotta try to get caught, or be a famous YouTuber or something and openly admit to it.

They’re focusing more on the sites distributing it than getting the people downloading it.

Nope, I pay for everything I have.
I don't think it's fair to any Dev to do something like that.

Yep, and it's a similar case for streaming TV shows and movies as well.

Although a few people do seem to get letters in the UK when they actually download content. But it's just a warning I believe. That's what I've read anyway, not sure how true that is.

Apparently we get those in the US as well, but that depends on your ISP, and it's more like an empty threat to shut off your internet rather than actual legal action. The copyright holder just gets it from your IP address when you torrent, so that's easily circumvented with a VPN.

Photoshop, because their huge monthly payment plan, is just a piratey as stealing it.
I remember when you could buy that without having to pay a ridiculous monthly fee.
Its criminal.

Yes, I got to admit it I have and I do. I have so with Photoshop and also Video edition software. That's all folks :P

With everyday heavy use software I pay outright :)

No. I'd be too afraid of downloading a virus or some other malware. I also understand all of the work and manpower it requires to create a reliable program everything from functionality to design. I don't mind paying money for software particularly if I anticipate that I will use it daily and it ultimately benefits me as a user.

That's exactly what happened to one of my co-workers. He got a root kit virus that basically bricked his laptop. No way to get rid of the virus and now he's out a laptop.

I feel the same way about movies. Sure actors/actresses get paid tons but... a lot more go into a production of a movie the crew and such. I don't mind paying for entertainment like that including video games.

I mean back in the day I had Limewire, Kazaa and WinMX, would have downloaded thousands of songs, i think most people did back then! I also had a copy of Photoshop CS3 back in the day but I wouldn't do it nowadays.

I plead the Fifth on this.
