Do you?
I'm pretty anti social and its gotten worse as I've gotten older. Its not like making friends in elementary school. That and I have terrible trust issues from being stabbed in the back by ex best friend.
I can understand that people might want more than that from someone who keeps people at a distance. I'm like that very much. I've met fellow men who wanted to hang out with me. But I never budged. I always gave an excuse or simply out right said that I wasn't interested. They seemed offended. Doesn't mean we have to be enemies. I just don't have time for you in my life other than where we're at.
The moment someone starts calling me friend...or bro. Is the moment, they've mistaken me for someone in their life that I'm not. They're setting themselves up. I hope they know I have no obligation to be loyal to them should my ass be on the line and they get thrown under the bus.
Correction. If you want to be friends. We'll talk about it and see where we stand. Call me friend, and that is your mistake to make. I'm an up front guy. But if it makes them comfortable. Go ahead. Does not mean I am.
To me. An acquaintance is someone where you leave things as they are. You meet them, you greet them where ever you go. If they're at work. You see them. But it never goes past that. If they quit or get fired. Farewell as they go out of your life. You don't have to deal with them or their problems. They're an as is person that you deal with as far as business goes.
I like that. I haven't had a solid friend since high school and I'm used to have short term relations with people and kept at a distance myself. I think I'm so set in this way that I don't care to have an actual friend.
To me an actual friend is a chore. They're almost as bad as having a girl friend. They need investment of time. Well. I have a one track mind and I prefer to invest my time in a person that I feel deserves it. That person truly has to mean something to me in sincerity of some way for me to like them and let them get closer.
