Free video games are video games that you don't need to pay money in order to download it before playing it. Games like Fortnite, PUBG, League of Legends, Apex Legends and so on are good examples of such games. But all of them have tons of microtransactions in it where you're expected to spend money on gaming cosmetics. Do you usually fall for such traps?

No. If a game that is free to download is made in a way where it feels like you need to spend money to have a good time in the game then I just don't bother to continue playing it. Free or not, I dislike P2W style games.

I did that with Guild Wars 2. There's no telling what I've spent on that game in the 10 years I've played it. Used to you had to buy Guild Wars 2 before it became Free 2 Play after it's release in 2012. But before the base game became free they still had their shop where you could buy new skins and DLC content.

Those free games for your phone are the worst! 30 second ads every minute it seems. :banghead:

I thought Forge of Empires was bad in the way that it takes months to build your Kingdom if you're not using their shop to buy time speed boosters, gold, and temporary invulnerablility consumables to keep high level players from sacking your castle. That game is entirely based on microtransactions. Things go super slow if you don't spend money.

Sounds like a game I would delete as soon as it asked for my money.

I usually play tetris on my phone. They have ads but at least they aren't super in your face like on other games. I should just pay the 99 cents to go ad free.

I do spend money in Pokemon Go from time to time. When I can't leave the house for whatever reason, and I run out of raid passes or Pokeballs I have to purchase coins.

Yes, but only games I play a butt load of. I did it for BitLife and think another similar mobile game!

Only Pokemon GO for more coins to buy remote raid passes. I did spend some money on Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links a few times too, but that was a long time ago.

I play this one pool game on my phone and its always trying to get me to spend money. About to delete it.

I know the feeling, I've probably spent hundreds on Pokemon GO at this point as often as I buy coins for raid passes. How dare they make games so addicting!

Yeah theres a whole science behind these money making schemes, I mean games.

Indeed, nearly every product has purchases beyond the actual product itself, it seems.
Something they've invented in modern times. It wasn't like that back in the day. Video games didn't have DLC's and all that nonsense.
