Yeah, the massive tips, I don't understand that. 10 - 20 is a good percentage, 25% when you're feeling generous, anything more is too much. Unless it's Xmas, I do...or did...like to tip well at XmasI do but I am not as generous as other people I've dined out with. I've ate with some people who left HUGE tips and I am always shocked
I'll probably leave 10 or 15%.

Tipping isn't a huge thing in New Zealand to the point a lot of businesses disallow it. But that's because we have a minimum wage and the more someone works somewhere generally the higher the $$ per hour.
Some cafes may have a tip jar but that's about it.Why don't you eat out anymore?
Disallow it? Thats lame. If I want to give my waitress a little extra money for doing a good job I should be able to.
I remember when I worked in retail we weren't allowed to take tips from customers for helping them out with things like carrying a large/heavy item out to their car and putting it inside their car. I used to help customers out with stuff like that all the time and would usually tell the customer that we weren't allowed to take tips but if they insisted I would take it. One time a lady gave me $50 and wouldn't take no for an answer. Lol

Every time I go out, of course I tip them. I usually do 20 bucks.
We have gotten out of the 'custom' of eating out pretty regularly because of all of the Covid restrictions; but when we did, tipped usually a little over 20%; having been a common laborer I don't envy their wages.
Even if the meal is under 5 dollars...Even if your meal is under $20![]()
?? Probably twice last year. (2022) We've gotten too much in the habit of eating at home; a lot of nice restaurants in this town closed during the pandemic...one we used to go to a lot, especially when we had out-of-town company.Even if your meal is under $20
When was the last time you went out to eat?
I used to have better control over my social anxiety issues, now it's gotten worse. I won't even go inside of a pizza place, for instance, unless I know it's just me and the person at the counter. Also cost, being a broke bitch makes it hard to eat outWhy don't you eat out anymore?

Ah, well I suppose its better for your pocket book to eat at home anyway.?? Probably twice last year. Lately we've relied on bringing in "Papa Murphy's" for informal hungry people.![]()
