NEW YORK -Vampire Diaries fans note: Nina Dobrev warns of a gut-wrenching season finale in which people will die.
The actress says she was as surprised as anyone the key plotline involving a sun and moon curse turned out to be a ruse for character Klaus, who's scheming to become a vampire/werewolf hybrid.
She acknowledges it broke her heart to find out that much of what was written the past two seasons was a big joke. But she also thinks it was a clever move to make Klaus appear more diabolical.
Dobrev says she hasn't been told, but it's assumed she will eventually have to play a third character ââ¬â the original to the two doppelgangers she currently plays.
The Diaries finale airs on the CW network on May 12.
