Doctors unite to combat obesity

These doctors are idiots. They're calling for total bans on junk food advertisements, because obviously if the products aren't advertised, nobody will be fat. Instead of picking on the marketing side of things, why don't they promote healthy living? Instead of demanding bans on ads, why don't they sponsor their own and provide information on the benefits of balanced diets, exercise and such?

Whether or not little Jimmy sees an ad for cheap pizza doesn't matter, because he'll probably end up getting pizza anyway.

It's a stupid media campaign and nothing more. They did the same thing for tobacco. Banned advertisements for it on TV, disallowed tobacco companies from sponsoring sporting events (Formula 1 racing being one of the biggest that I remember) but people still smoke. They put warnings on the packaging effectively saying your body will eat itself and shit your heart out through your ear, but people still smoke. They'd be a lot better off spending time and effort on other things.
